Monday, Sept. 14, 2015 – Galactic Moments, Tie Fighter Modernography, Opee Sea Killer in the Smuggler’s Den, First Order: Widescreen 06, Greedo at Mos Eisley, Gold Speederbike Classic Art

Today’s Galactic Moments is the 3rd insert of Wave 3. 11 years after the original Star Wars: Battlefront, we’re set for the most epic Battlefront yet. I’m already planning days off to play (don’t worry we’ll take breaks to update the website).

The next Smugger’s Den variant is another odd one to keep hoarders on their toes, the Opee Sea Killer. The Smuggler’s variant has garnered a count of 857. Something to note. While the first three Smuggler’s Den variants have been labeled as “Sold Out,” the Varactyl and Opee Sea Killer have not. It’s possible that Topps may just not have gotten around to making it show up as sold out, perhaps they’re considering reopening these variants at a later time in the future.

Modernography number 9 is Tie Fighter only 10 more to go. Ugh. Something interesting I discovered while updating the checklist. Thought it might just be a glitch in the matrix, but the Galactic Empire Gold variant has stalled at 227 even as the card that was released after it, R2-D2, has sold out. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen that happen. If it’s not a glitch, this card could turn out to be fairly valuable to someone trying to complete the set.

The penultimate First Order: Widescreen number 6 came out today. Another version with Kylo Ren, I’m getting anxious about the series finishing. I need to get on finding my needs! If anyone has a Gold 02 to trade for something reasonable, I’m looking.

Greedo has appeared in the Mos Eisley set. That makes me think we might see Han Solo or Chewbacca as the award. I have a feeling this card will be popular with Greedo hoarders so better get yours while you can.

Finally, the Gold Variant Speederbike dropped in today and look what I just saw in the store …
