Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015 Recap – Mos Eisley Feltipern Trevagg, Vintage Falcon Needs Repairs, Topps Classic Snowtrooper, Klaatu Gold, Modernography Vader Strikes Again, Smugger’s Den Exclusive Variant Gamorrean Guard

IMG_6421.PNGToday’s Mos Eisley card is Feltipern Trevagg. It’s quite possible I’m the worlds worst Star Wars fan, but I’ve don’t recall this character at all. But, apparently he’s done a lot.

“… was a maleGotal tax collector in the Mos Eisley district, a local bounty hunter on the side, mainly taking in small petty criminals for either the Galactic Empire stationed on Tatooine or for Jabba Desilijic Tiure and a co-worker of Predne Balu. Lover of M’iiyoom Onith, nicknamed Nightlily, he would be killed by her as part of a mating ritual.”

RIP Feltipern Trevagg.

Today’s Vintage card is called, “the Falcon’s Repairs.” We’re getting down to the wire as this is the 9th card in the 3rd wave. Only one more week to go, unless we see a week off like we did for Widevision last week.

Like yesterday’s Monochrome, Topps Classic also decided to show off the Snowtrooper. I think this is actually our first really good look at the snowtrooper as the other looks we got were mostly illustrations.

The Gold variant of Klaatu Classic Art card dropped today and like yesterday’s Green variant, it as become the rarest Gold of the set beating the Leia as Boushh card by a hundred. If you’re still collecting the set and didn’t get this one today, hope you find a kind trader or prepare to give up some high value cards. This is only the either card, I have a feeling by the time we reach the end we’ll be below 300 for the final award card count.

The next Modernography card is another Darth Vader card. We’ve just hit the 14th card in the set. Despite the length of this set, it’s been a lot easier to keep up than I thought and I’ve had a better than average time pulling and trading for the cards I need. At this point, unless something drastic happens with the numbers, I should be able to finish this set. Unfortunately, these factors (ease of collecting, high number of inserts in the set, relatively high card counts) mean the long-term trade value of this set is probably pretty low.

Finally, tonight a new Smuggler’s Den Exclusive was added, Gamorrean Guard which has sold out at 1009. This is actually the first time I had the Gold card for the Den variant and I was happy to shred them.
