Monday, Sept. 7, 2015 – Happy Labor Day (U.S.), Galactic Moments, Flametrooper, Sabine, A New Hope as a Glyph, and Everyone’s Favorite Ewok Wicket
It’s Galactic Moments Mondays and today’s card is “the Magic of Myth.”it celebrates Star Wars’ arrival to the Smithsonian in 1997. I’m not chasing this marathon (so for the right card my GMs can be yours) but, I really like these cards for giving out bits of Star Wars history. If this doesn’t sell out today I might get one tomorrow when I try for Bounties. đ And the Galactic Moments checklist is finally up. Thanks for your patience.
Next down the pike, is First Order:Helmet 2 of 3 the Flametrooper (I incorrectly stated the last one was a flametrooper, it was a snowtrooper and has been corrected). Drawn and in profile, these remind me of knights helmets from medieval timesâkind of.
The 6th card out of 7 in the Rebels:Defined series is Sabine. Almost missed this one again. Luckily I have a good network of traders that lookout for each other. I think this is the spirit of the card trading game. Finding those people out there that you can trust and you help each other out good or bad.
The next Pictogram tells the story of A New Hope. Staring with the iconic star destroyer, Leia’s message to Obi-Wan through R2, etc. It’s sort of fun. I like the dynamic of chasing the two variants to get a third Gold variant. The odds are decent though I think for this kind of set they could have been lower. It’s a long series of 15 and we’re almost half way through. I’m going to run out of things to say about this set.
Finally today we got the next installment of the Classic Arts Series 2 card, the adorable Wicket. I say it that way because a trading friend of mine was excited to pull the card during the drop window today. I asked him if he had the other greens he replied, “Nah I just wanted wicket he’s adorable and I loved (th)e card.” That’s so awesome. Sometimes, I wish I could feel that care free about it. Then the next card drops.
