Friday, Oct. 23, 2015 Recap – Halloween Pack and Creature Variants, A Final Fan’s Choice, Final Card Trader Illustrated Card, Rock On Luke, Classic Art 2.2 The Emperor, Factions Day 5, Darth Vader SD Monument Chase Ends

Halloween Pack: SWCT is getting geared up for Halloween. Two special packs are in the store. The first pack is an insert set with Halloween/Day of the Dead themed images. The designs are actually quite clever. I especially like the C-3PO design and the C-3PO & R2-D2 design.

Halloween Creature Variants: I don’t know that I would have chased these variants, but tried to get them double dipping for other inserts. But, Topps have added a guaranteed way to get the card by using Tap Joy to get credits you get a free pack that gives you a Halloween variant. Thanks Topps! This is the perfect way to distribute these cards to fans.

Fan’s Choice: Qui-Gon has lost (again) to Darth Maul. So the stage is set for the final Marathon award fight between Darth Maul and the previous two wave winners: Darth Vader and Boba Fett. So who would win in a fight? I’m gonna have to go with Darth Vader on this one but I think Boba Fett will win the vote.

Card Trader Illustrated: Rancor, Lando, C-3PO, and R2-D2. The final card in this extremely limited set. It’s been kind of exciting to watch from the side lines. I have a couple friends trying to complete sets. One is even attempting to complete the Red variant set. He acquired one of the 2 Aayla Securas which fueled his chase for the rest. Rock On: Luke Skywalker. I admit these have been getting better. My favorite one before the Luke card was the psychedelic Yoda, but this one just works and, being a child of the 70s, reminds me of the Shaun Cassidy posters my cousin had on her walls. Classic.

Classic Art 2 Wave 2: The Emperor. Blue count was only 400 today. That’s at Gold out levels and actually more Golds were pulled today than Blue. Crazy. What the heck happened there? I have no idea.

Resistance vs First Order: Day 5 The Droids.  The notable about this today is Gold variants are late. From the count (0) it looks like Red and White are late too.

Darth Vader SD Monument: 13 Series 2 Darth Vader (Sith Lord) Monuments were redeemed. The lowest count was Darth Vader (Search for Skywalker) at 9. And the highest was Death Star Inspection with 15. Congrats to the Darth Vader hoarders I hope I was able to help some of you out.
