Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 Recap – New Set: Rock On Cards, SD Gold Podracer, Widevision Jedi vs. Sith, Gold Classic Art Luke, Die Cut Flame Trooper, Yavin IV Han & Chewie, ESB #66-70

First, I’d like to welcome JEDIMASTERBEYP to the crew. He wrote the recap yesterday and will be helping out with the site.

New pack out Rock On and I think this is a great example of how limiting the Star Wars license must be. I credit Topps for doing their best trying to figure out new ways the show what must be the limited number of images, poses, characters they are allowed to use. I like that they are trying to bring some quirky ideas like rock concert posters into the mix. But, I don’t know if the execution is quite there yet. I’m hopeful that we’ll have a few cool design in this 13+1 insert set. As it stands though, we basically have the Boba Fett image from Street Art 2 with a new border. Personally, I’d like to see more designs like this:

The next Gold SD Schematic and Build dropped for Sebulba’s Podracer. These things are way to rich for my blood.

We have the next to last Widevision today. One more week until this Marathon ends and it doesn’t look like there will be as much drama here as with Vintage, but you never know. #SWCT with @DarthJer at the helm has been very surprising lately. Maybe they’ll add an SD component to these Marathons as well. Shred 30 weeks of work for a super rare card. LOL.
