Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015 Recap – Marathon Award Day, Luminaries Lobot, Classic Art 2 AT-ST, Factions Chewbacca, TIE Special Forces TFA Schematic, Han Solo Pink Variant, Gold Sith Infiltrator Variant, 4 way Darth Vader Monument Chase

Awards! Awards for most of the marathons: Vintage, Bounty, Connections, Widevision and Topps Choice were given out today as well as awards for Moments Edge and I think Red Luminaries and Sunset Variants for Jabba’s Palace were also given out sometime between yesterday and today. Voting is ongoing for Fan’s Choice and I’m not really sure what’s going on with Galactic Moments. Wave 3 #7 was the last drop and I don’t think we’ve seen another drop since 10/5.

Vintage counts are still being tallied (it seems you have to open the shelf award to actually receive the award cards) but, even with all the whining, the card counts for the marathon award with and without “Luke Preps” is very close.

Luminaries: Lobot dropped today. The Red variants (you get one for collecting all the parallels of an insert within 24 hours of the drop) have very low counts. Still waiting for news on how the SD variants will shake out.

Classic Art 2 Wave 2: AT-ST a.k.a. Chicken Walker. As we’re speeding toward the final awards for this series and set numbers continue to drop. The AT-ST gold is the lowest count so far.

Resistance vs First Order: Chewbacca.

The Force Awakens: Schematics: TIE Special Forces. Much Like the First Order Stormtroopers, these TIE Fighters received a subtle yet sexy upgrade. I picked up one of these from Metal Earth and it is amazing.

Pink Variant: Han Solo.

Smuggler’s Den Schematic & Build card: Sith Infiltrator Gold Variant. The requirements for these things are insane starting with only a 10% chance of getting a Gold schematic in the first place.

Monument Chase: 4 way Darth Vader Monument Chase. All four Darth Vader Base cards are in the chase. Redeem 6000 Base Whites for Series 1 and 3000 Base Whites for Series 2.
