Weekend, Oct. 31-Nov. 1 Recap
Whoa, slow weekend. There were a couple of Card Illustrated box drops, a new set, which is cool, but it’s long one with 105 cards and a conclusion to the Halloween festivities. Here’s what’s new:

Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Like the 1977 set, this pack is based on the physical Topps packs of the same name. Though, in my opinion, if you can find the physical cards, I would rather have those. The Blue variant cards that are inserts in this pack are actually the common base cards IRL. Why they didn’t just mimic the structure of the actually packs, I don’t know. I think that would make collecting this set a lot more fun. All the cards would be new. New base cards and new inserts—sort of. Actually, the foil inserts that come with the physical packs are what were used in the Die Cut packs. Other inserts in the real word packs are cloth patches with new designs that would have felt right at home with modernography, stickers like the 1977 awards, cloth stickers with illustrations, space paintings, heroes of the resistance and power of the first order character cards (I could see this being a digital set), a behind the scenes set featuring Ralph McQuarrie, and something akin to Connections. There are also one of a kind sketches and limited number variant cards.
Halloween Pack Awards: Looks like a final pack was dropped before the Awards went out and it looks like a good one—at least appropriate for the set. Congrats to those who completed their chase.
Also this just in, no award for the whiteout set:
@mlowman213 there is no award for whiteout cards.
